Shotblasting and Painting

Shot Blasting

We operate a dedicated blast bay which can accommodate substantial sized fabrications and machined components. Surface preparation is achieved by shot blasting components to achieve SA Standards 1, 2.5 or 3 depending on customer specification.

Eighty percent or more of all coating adhesion failures can be directly attributed to improper surface preparation. Jolibar Metal Works ensure that surface preparation is fully compliant to customer specifications by shot blasting in a controlled environment and blast profile inspection completed by our Level 3 Coating Inspector prior to commencement of coating application within four hours to prevent oxidisation of components.

Our dedicated paint booth is sufficiently large enough to accommodate substantial sized fabrications and machined components. We have vast experience in the application of protective coating systems to suit a wide range of environments. We apply coatings in strict accordance with customer specifications using airless and air assisted equipment and ensure compliance to specification through our Level 3 Coating Inspector who maintains rigorous inspection routines throughout the coating process.

We are experienced in the application of the following systems:

  • Alkyd
  • Zinc Rich
  • Single and Two Pack Epoxies
  • Glass Flake
  • Acrylic
  • Anti-Skid

Our inspectors have the skills and expertise to carry out specification review, fault diagnosis and inspections.

All products are supplied with a full traceability pack to ensure that finishes are compliant with the required standards.
